The Edinburgh Bar & Lounge offers a comfortable place to greet, meet, celebrate and entertain with friends and family. Our Bar and Lounge is open from 9am daily and offering a delicious light Bites menu alongside the Bar Meals until 8pm (last food orders at 7.45pm).

An extensive range of wines by the glass, draught or bottled beers, various Scottish malt whiskies and monthly beverage promotions displayed on the screens throughout the building.

The hotel and bar have been immortalised in the famous Jean Brodie novel and we imagine the windows described in an extract below are our very own within the Edinburgh Bar & Lounge!

Extract from Muriel Spark’s novel: ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie’:

In that year after the war when Sandy sat with Miss Brodie in the window of the Braid Hills Hotel, and brought her eyes back from the hills to show she was listening, Miss Brodie said: “I renounced Teddy Lloyd. But I decided to enter into a love affair, it was the only cure. My love for Teddy was an obsession, he was the love of my prime. But in the autumn of nineteen-thirty-one I entered an affair with Gordon Lowther, he was a bachelor and it was more becoming. That is the truth and there is no more to say.
